Prices checked September 25, 2026. I’ll update this post when the sale starts on October 6.
Something odd is happening with Apple’s deals right now.
Go looking for a discount on an iPad case or a charging brick, and you’ll find 30% or 40% off without much effort. Go looking for a discount on the MacBook or iPad you actually want, and you’re staring at 5%.
That split runs right through all 23 Apple products I checked this week. And there’s a reason for it that most deal roundups won’t tell you about: Apple quietly raised its prices back in June, which means today’s discounts are being carved off a bigger number than they were three months ago.
So here’s what you’ll get below. All 23 products grouped by category, what June’s Prime Day tells us about where prices are heading, and an honest call on each one: buy it now, or hold out until October 6.
Fair warning on a few of these. The word “deal” is doing some heavy lifting.
October Prime Day 2026 at a Glance
Amazon’s fall sale is officially called Prime Big Deal Days, and it runs October 6 at 12 a.m. PT through October 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT. That’s 48 hours. East Coast readers, set your alarm for 3 a.m. on the 6th, or more sensibly, just check after breakfast.
You’ll need Prime for most of the discounts. It runs $14.99 a month or $139 a year, and new members usually get a free trial.
Deals don’t all land at once, either. Amazon releases fresh ones throughout the event, so an iPad that isn’t discounted on Tuesday morning could be by Tuesday afternoon.
The Apple Price Hike Nobody Asked For
Here’s the bit that changes how you should read every discount below.
On June 25, right in the middle of Prime Day, Apple raised prices across much of its lineup. The company pointed to the memory chip shortage, driven by AI companies buying up enormous quantities of memory for their servers. Apple said it had never seen a component price rise this fast, which is not a sentence you want to hear from a company that sells laptops.
MacRumors later reported that the hikes covered numerous product categories, including the 2026 MacBook Pro, and that the new pricing had worked its way through to third-party retailers.
Why does this matter to you? Because the crossed-out list price sitting next to every product below is the post-hike number. So when you see 5% off a MacBook Air, you’re getting 5% off a price that went up in June. In real terms, the “deal” may leave you paying more than you would have in the spring.
I’m not saying don’t buy. I’m saying read the percentage with that in mind.
What June’s Prime Day Tells Us About October
June’s sale ran the 23rd through the 26th, and it gives us a useful yardstick for what Apple gear can drop to when Amazon really goes for it.
AirPods went to record lows. The AirPods Pro 3 fell to an all-time low at 32% off in the run-up, and even the official Prime Day price landed at $70 off. Today’s discount on the same earbuds is 20%. AirPods Max 2, meanwhile, hit all-time low pricing across all five colors during the June event, per 9to5Toys. Today they’re sitting at 13%.
Macs saw real money come off. The 15-inch M5 MacBook Air reached an all-time low at $200 off. Right now, that same machine is discounted 5%. Do the arithmetic and you’ll see today’s saving isn’t in the same league.
One Mac is already there, though. The 48GB M5 Pro MacBook Pro was $300 off in June. Today’s 8% discount works out to roughly the same amount, which makes it one of the very few Apple machines on this list already sitting at June-level pricing.
The takeaway: audio and accessories have proven they can go much lower, so patience pays there. Macs and iPads are the wait-and-see group, with one notable exception.
Apple’s Two-Speed Discount Pattern
Line up all 23 products by discount and the pattern jumps out at you.
At the top: an iPad keyboard case at 40% off, a charging adapter at 34%, the Apple Pencil Pro at 23%, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 at 22%. Solid, meaningful markdowns.
At the bottom: the entry iPad at 5%, the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs at 5%, and the iMac at 5%. Token gestures, really.
The pattern is no accident. Apple guards its margins fiercely on the hardware people actually shop for, and lets accessories absorb the discounting instead. Retailers have more room to move on a $99 stylus than on a $1,300 laptop.
What that means for October 6 is straightforward. Expect accessories and audio to lead the way, and don’t hold your breath for a Mac fire sale. If a MacBook does drop meaningfully during the sale, that’ll be the genuine surprise worth jumping on.
The Apple Deals I’m Tracking
Here’s all 23, grouped by category. For each one you’ll see the discount on offer, what I like, the catch, and whether I’d buy now or wait for October 6.
MacBooks
Six MacBooks made the list, and the discounts range from token to respectable. One pattern worth noticing straight away: the higher-storage configurations are getting better discounts than the base models, which tells you something about where the memory shortage is hurting Apple most.
1. MacBook Air 13-inch M5 (16GB / 512GB, Midnight)
Discount: 5% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (1,132 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 6K+ bought in the past month
This is the MacBook most people should buy, and the sales figures agree. More than 6,000 went out the door last month. You get the M5 chip, a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, 16GB of unified memory, a 512GB SSD, the 12MP Center Stage camera, Touch ID, and Wi-Fi 7. It’s fast, fanless, and the battery goes all day.

The catch is the discount. Five percent off a post-hike list price is about as thin as it gets, and this same machine sold for far less during June’s sale before Apple raised prices.
My take: Wait. If any Mac gets a real cut on October 6, it’ll be this one, purely because Amazon moves so many of them.
2. MacBook Air 13-inch M5 (16GB / 1TB, Starlight)
Discount: 9% off | Rating: 4.8 stars (219 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 300+ bought in the past month
Same machine as above, but with double the storage, and here’s the interesting part: it’s discounted nearly twice as deeply. That’s not a coincidence. Storage is exactly where the memory shortage is squeezing hardest, and it’s the upgrade you cannot make later, since the SSD is soldered in.
It also carries the highest rating of any MacBook on this list at 4.8 stars.

The catch is that 219 reviews is a small sample, so read a few before committing.
My take: Better value than the base model, oddly enough. If you know you want 1TB, this is the smarter of the two buys.
3. MacBook Air 13-inch M5 (24GB / 1TB, Midnight)
Discount: 8% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (267 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 1K+ bought in the past month
The fully loaded 13-inch Air, with 24GB of unified memory and a 1TB drive. If you run heavy apps, juggle dozens of tabs, or do photo and video work on the side, this is the configuration that’ll still feel quick in four years.
It’s also discounted better than the base model, following the same pattern as #2.

The catch: 24GB is genuinely more than most people need for email, browsing, and documents. Be honest with yourself about your workload before paying for headroom you’ll never touch.
My take: The right pick for power users. Wait for October, but don’t expect a dramatic drop on a configuration this specific.
4. MacBook Air 15-inch M5 (16GB / 512GB, Sky Blue)
Discount: 5% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (664 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 1K+ bought in the past month
The 15-inch Air is for people who want screen space without the weight or price of a Pro. Same M5 chip, same 16GB and 512GB, same Center Stage camera and Wi-Fi 7, just stretched to a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display. Sky Blue is a genuinely nice color in person

The catch is history. 9to5Toys reported this exact model hitting an all-time low during June’s sale at $200 off. Today’s 5% is nowhere near that, even accounting for the price hike.
My take: Wait, and wait with some confidence. This model has a track record of going considerably lower.
5. MacBook Pro 14-inch M5 (16GB / 1TB, Space Black)
Discount: 8% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (298 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 1K+ bought in the past month
Step up to the Pro and you get the 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, which is a noticeable jump in brightness and contrast over the Air’s panel. This configuration pairs the M5 chip with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, 16GB of memory, and a 1TB SSD

The catch is that 16GB on a Pro machine feels tight. If you bought this for video editing or heavy creative work, you’d likely want more memory, and you can’t add it later.
My take: A good middle ground if the XDR screen matters to you. The 8% is respectable by Apple standards, but October could nudge it further.
6. MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Pro (48GB / 1TB, Silver)
Discount: 8% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (103 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 200+ bought in the past month
This is the serious one. An M5 Pro chip with an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU, 48GB of unified memory, a 1TB SSD, a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, and Wi-Fi 7. If you edit video, compile code, or run big models locally, this is the machine.

Here’s what makes it interesting: 9to5Toys reported the 48GB M5 Pro MacBook Pro at $300 off during June’s Prime Day. Today’s 8% works out to roughly that same figure. In other words, this is one of the only Macs on my entire list already sitting at June sale pricing.
The catch is the review count, at just 103, and the fact that it’s a huge amount of money whichever way you slice it.
My take: If you need this machine, today’s discount is already about as good as June’s. That’s rare on this list.
iPads
Four iPads here, and the discount pattern is the reverse of what you might expect. The cheapest model has the smallest discount, while the mid-range Air is the one getting the real markdown.
7. iPad 11-inch (A16, 128GB)
Discount: 5% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (28,879 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 10K+ bought in the past month
This is the people’s iPad. With nearly 29,000 reviews, it has more feedback than anything else on this list by a country mile, and over 10,000 sold last month. The A16 chip, an 11-inch Liquid Retina display, 128GB, Wi-Fi 6, 12MP cameras front and back, Touch ID, and all-day battery. For browsing, streaming, and note-taking, it does everything most people need.
The catch is that 5% discount, tied for the smallest on this page. Popular products don’t need deep cuts to sell.

My take: Wait. It’s an excellent iPad, but 5% off isn’t a Prime Day price by anyone’s definition.
8. iPad Air 11-inch (M4, 128GB)
Discount: 13% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (807 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 4K+ bought in the past month
Best iPad discount on the list, and it’s not particularly close. The M4 chip is a serious step up from the A16, which matters if you edit photos, run demanding apps, or want an iPad that stays capable for years. You also get Wi-Fi 7 with Apple’s N1 chip, 12MP cameras, Touch ID, and Apple Pencil Pro support.

The catch is that you’re paying meaningfully more than the standard iPad for power that casual users won’t stretch.
My take: The value pick of the four. At 13%, this is one of the more honest discounts on the page, and 4,000+ people bought one last month
9. iPad Air 13-inch (M4, 128GB)
Discount: 11% off | Rating: 4.6 stars (416 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 1K+ bought in the past month
The same iPad Air, stretched to a 13-inch display. If you split-screen apps, draw, or use your iPad as a laptop replacement, the extra real estate genuinely helps. Identical internals otherwise: M4 chip, 128GB, Wi-Fi 7, Touch ID.

The catch is the math. You’re paying a chunk more than the 11-inch and getting a slightly smaller discount for the privilege. Bigger screens command a premium, and Amazon knows it.
My take: Only if you’ll really use the extra size. Otherwise the 11-inch is the better deal on both counts.
10. iPad Pro 13-inch (M5, 256GB)
Discount: 7% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (800 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 300+ bought in the past month
The flagship. An M5 chip, an Ultra Retina XDR display that leaves every other iPad screen in the dust, 256GB, a landscape 12MP front camera, a LiDAR scanner, Face ID, and Wi-Fi 7. For professional creative work on a tablet, nothing else Apple makes comes close.
The catch is the usual Pro question: are you actually going to use it? For most people, the iPad Air at #8 does 90% of the job for a lot less, with a better discount attached.

My take: Wait. At 7%, there’s room for October to do better, and Pro models occasionally see decent cuts when Apple clears stock.
Desktop
Just one desktop made the list, and it’s the oldest product here.
11. iMac 24-inch M4 (24GB / 512GB, Silver)
Discount: 5% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (203 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 100+ bought in the past month
The 24-inch iMac is still one of the loveliest computers Apple makes. Everything tucks behind a slim Retina display, the color options are cheerful, and this configuration pairs the M4 chip’s 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU with 24GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. For a family machine or a tidy home office, it’s hard to beat

Two catches. This is a 2024 model, so it’s the oldest hardware on my list, and Apple’s desktop refresh cycle means a successor may not be far off. And at 5%, the discount is tied for the thinnest here.
My take: Wait. Old hardware plus a token discount is a poor combination, and buying right before a refresh is a classic false economy.
AirPods and Audio
This is where June’s sale set the clearest benchmarks, and where today’s discounts look weakest by comparison. Apple audio gets genuinely cheap during Prime Day, so patience tends to pay here.
12. AirPods Pro 3
Discount: 20% off | Rating: 4.4 stars (15,473 reviews), #1 Best Seller in Earbud & In-Ear Headphones, 10K+ bought in the past month
Apple’s flagship earbuds, and the #1 best seller in their category for good reason. Active noise cancellation, Live Translation for in-person conversations, heart rate sensing during workouts, spatial audio, the hearing aid feature, and USB-C charging. More than 10,000 sold last month.

The catch is that 20% looks a lot less impressive once you know the history. These hit an all-time low at 32% off in the run-up to June’s Prime Day, and MacRumors called it a record. Even the official Prime Day price landed at $70 off, which 9to5Toys noted was within $10 of the best price ever tracked.
Worth knowing: that record low was fleeting, appearing in short windows rather than sticking around.
My take: Wait. These have proven they go considerably lower, and October is exactly the sort of event that brings that price back.
13. AirPods Max 2 (Midnight, Starlight, or Blue)
Discount: 13% off | Rating: 4.5 stars (984 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 3K+ bought in the past month
Apple’s over-ear headphones, refreshed with the H2 chip. You get active noise cancellation, adaptive audio, personalized spatial audio, and Live Translation. All three colors here carry the same discount, so pick whichever you like the look of.

The catch is the same story as the AirPods Pro. 9to5Toys reported that all five AirPods Max 2 colors hit all-time low pricing during June’s Prime Day. Thirteen percent isn’t in that territory.
My take: Wait. If there’s one product category on this list where October should deliver, it’s Apple audio.
14. EarPods with Lightning Connector
Discount: 21% off | Rating: 4.5 stars (18,759 reviews), 10K+ bought in the past month
The humble wired EarPods, still selling by the truckload with nearly 19,000 reviews behind them. Built-in remote for music, calls, and volume. If you’ve got an older iPhone or iPad with a Lightning port, they’re a handy spare to keep in a bag or a drawer.

The catch is the connector. Apple has moved to USB-C across the lineup, so check what port your device actually has before ordering.
My take: Buy now if you need a pair. At this price, waiting two weeks to save pocket change isn’t worth the bother.
Apple Watch
Two watches here, and one of them is carrying the single most credible price signal on this entire page.
15. Apple Watch SE 3 (GPS 44mm, Starlight)
Discount: 11% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (4,506 reviews), 3K+ bought in the past month
The sensible Apple Watch. You get fitness and sleep tracking, a heart rate monitor, an always-on display, and water resistance in a Starlight aluminum case with a Sport Band. For most people, this does everything they’d actually use a smartwatch for, and 3,000+ people bought one last month.

The catch is that 11% is middling. Not insulting, not exciting.
My take: Wait, but only just. If you want a Watch SE and spot it on October 6, don’t overthink it.
16. Apple Watch Ultra 3 (GPS + Cellular 49mm, Titanium)
Discount: 22% off | Badge: Lowest price in 30 days | Rating: 4.7 stars (1,169 reviews), 300+ bought in the past month
This is the most convincing deal on the page, and here’s why: it’s the only product among all 23 carrying a “Lowest price in 30 days” badge. That’s based on Amazon’s own recent pricing data, not a crossed-out number someone typed in. It’s also the second-largest discount here at 22%.

The watch itself is Apple’s most capable, with a rugged titanium case, a Black Titanium Milanese Loop, satellite communications for when you’re off-grid, and advanced health and fitness tracking. For hikers, divers, and endurance athletes, it’s in a class of its own.
The catch is that it’s a lot of watch for someone who just wants step counts and notifications.
My take: Buy now, if you want one. A 22% discount backed by a genuine low-price badge is as good as Apple deals get outside the sale itself.
Accessories, Where the Real Discounts Live
Now we get to the good stuff. Every meaningful discount on this list lives in this section, topping out at 40% off. If your Apple budget is modest, this is where it goes furthest.
17. Magic Keyboard Folio (for iPad A16 and 10th Gen)
Discount: 40% off | Rating: 4.4 stars (1,349 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 2K+ bought in the past month
The biggest discount on the entire list, by a comfortable margin. It’s a detachable two-piece design that attaches magnetically, with a built-in trackpad that turns an iPad into something close to a laptop

The catch is compatibility, and it’s a big one. This fits the iPad with the A16 chip and the 10th generation iPad only. It will not fit an iPad Air or iPad Pro. Check your model before ordering, or you’ll be arranging a return.
My take: Buy now. Accessory discounts this deep don’t hang around, and 40% is unlikely to be beaten on October 6.
18. Apple 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter
Discount: 34% off | Rating: 4.8 stars (2,875 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 10K+ bought in the past month
Second-biggest discount here, and the highest-rated product on the whole list at 4.8 stars. Two USB-C ports in a compact brick means charging your phone and watch, or your iPad and AirPods, from one outlet. Over 10,000 sold last month.

No real catch. It’s a charger, it works, and a third off is a good price.
My take: Buy now. This is the easiest yes on the page
19. Apple Pencil Pro
Discount: 23% off | Rating: 4.6 stars (10,425 reviews), #1 Best Seller in Styluses, 10K+ bought in the past month
The #1 best seller in its category, with over 10,000 reviews and 10,000+ sold last month. Pixel-perfect precision, tilt and pressure sensitivity, and it charges and pairs magnetically. If you take notes, draw, or mark up documents on an iPad, it changes how the thing feels to use.

The catch is compatibility again. The Pencil Pro doesn’t work with every iPad, so check your model against Apple’s list first.
My take: Buy now. At 23% on a best seller, this is unlikely to get much better.
20. Magic Keyboard (Bluetooth, US English)
Discount: 19% off | Rating: 4.6 stars (817 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 5K+ bought in the past month
Apple’s standalone Bluetooth keyboard, for Macs, iPads, or anything else you want to type on properly. Slim, quiet, and the battery lasts weeks. 5,000+ sold last month.

The catch is that 817 reviews is a modest count for something this popular, which suggests a relatively recent listing.
My take: Buy now if you need one. Nineteen percent is a solid accessory discount.
21. Apple 240W USB-C to USB-C Woven Charge Cable (2m)
Discount: 17% off | Rating: 4.7 stars (9,995) reviews, 10K+ bought in the past month
A 2-meter woven cable rated for 240W, which means it’ll fast-charge anything Apple makes, including the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The woven design holds up far better than the old white plastic cables that frayed if you looked at them wrong.

The catch: it’s a cable. Charming as Apple’s version is, third-party options cost less.
My take: Buy now if you’re replacing a frayed one. Otherwise, it’s hardly urgent.
22. Magic Trackpad (Black)
Discount: 13% off | Rating: 4.6 stars (993 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 2K+ bought in the past month
If you’ve used a MacBook trackpad and wished your desktop setup felt the same, this is the answer. The large Multi-Touch surface handles every macOS gesture, and the black finish looks sharp next to a Mac mini or Studio Display.

The catch is the 13% discount, which is on the lower end for an accessory.
My take: Wait. Accessories are the category most likely to see deeper cuts on October 6, and this one has room to fall.
23. AirTag 4-Pack (2nd Generation)
Discount: 10% off | Rating: 4.6 stars (11,110 reviews), Amazon’s Choice, 10K+ bought in the past month
The second-generation AirTag, in a four-pack for keys, wallet, luggage, and whatever else you habitually misplace. Setup is a one-tap affair with an iPhone or iPad, and the second-gen model extends Precision Finding range by up to 1.5x. Over 11,000 reviews and 10,000+ sold last month.

The catch is the discount. At 10%, this is the smallest accessory markdown on the list, despite being one of the best sellers on it.
My take: Wait. AirTags are a classic Prime Day item, and 10% is well below what these have gone for during past sales.
What I’d Buy Now vs. Wait For
Buy now: the Apple Watch Ultra 3. It’s the only product here with a “Lowest price in 30 days” badge, and at 22% it has the second-biggest discount on the page. On a list full of unverifiable list prices, that badge is worth its weight in gold.
Buy now: the accessories at the top of the ladder. The Magic Keyboard Folio at 40%, the 35W adapter at 34%, the Apple Pencil Pro at 23%, and the Magic Keyboard at 19%. Accessory discounts this deep rarely get much deeper, and they tend to sell out rather than fall further. Just double-check compatibility on the Folio and the Pencil, because both only fit certain iPads.
Fine to buy now: the 16-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro. Its 8% roughly matches the $300 off this configuration saw during June’s Prime Day. That’s the only Mac here already at sale-level pricing.
Wait: all the Apple audio. The AirPods Pro 3 hit 32% off in June and the AirPods Max 2 reached all-time lows across every color. Today’s 20% and 13% aren’t close.
Wait: the 5% club. The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs, the entry iPad, and the iMac. These are token discounts, and the 15-inch Air in particular has proven it goes much lower.
Wait: the AirTags. Ten percent on a product that sells 10,000+ units a month is Amazon barely trying. These are a Prime Day staple and should do better on the 6th.
One caveat on all of this. With the memory shortage still pushing component costs up, Apple hardware may not fall as far as it did in June, whatever Amazon does. If you see a number you’re happy with, take it rather than gambling on Black Friday.
How to Prep for October 6
Ten minutes of groundwork now beats frantic refreshing on the day.
Add your shortlist to your cart or wish list. You’ll spot price changes instantly instead of hunting through search results.
Screenshot today’s discounts. It’s the simplest way to prove a Prime Day “deal” is actually better than what’s on offer now.
Check the price history. Keepa and CamelCamelCamel are free and show what each product has genuinely sold for. This is how you catch a 20% discount that was 32% three months ago.
Check Apple’s education store. If you’re a student, teacher, or staff member at an eligible school, Apple’s education pricing sometimes beats Amazon outright, especially on Macs and iPads. Worth two minutes before you buy.
Verify compatibility. The Magic Keyboard Folio and Apple Pencil Pro only work with specific iPad models. Check yours against Apple’s compatibility list first.
Set a deal alert. Amazon says Alexa for Shopping can notify you about deals on specific products or whole categories.
Confirm your Prime membership is active. Most deals are members-only, and sorting this out on the morning of the sale is a headache you don’t need.
FAQ
When does October Prime Day 2026 start?
Prime Big Deal Days runs from October 6 at 12 a.m. PT to October 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
Why are Apple’s list prices higher than they were earlier this year?
Apple raised prices across much of its lineup on June 25, pointing to the memory chip shortage driven by AI server demand. MacRumors reported the hikes covered numerous categories, including the 2026 MacBook Pro, and later reached third-party retailers. So today’s discounts come off those higher prices.
Do AirPods get cheaper on Prime Day?
Historically, yes, and by a lot. The AirPods Pro 3 hit a record low at 32% off around June’s sale, and the AirPods Max 2 reached all-time lows in all five colors. Today’s discounts are well short of that.
Are MacBooks worth waiting for on October 6?
For most models, yes. The 5% discounts on the MacBook Airs leave plenty of room. The exception is the 48GB 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is already near June’s discount level.
Which Apple deal here is the most trustworthy right now?
The Apple Watch Ultra 3, because it’s the only one carrying Amazon’s “Lowest price in 30 days” badge.
Do I need Prime for these deals?
For most of them, yes. Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year, and new members can usually start with a free trial.
Final Thoughts
Apple’s discounts have split into two very different stories this year. Accessories are genuinely cheap, with the Magic Keyboard Folio at 40% off and a charging adapter at 34%. Macs and iPads, meanwhile, are stuck at 5% off prices that went up in June. You don’t have to be a detective to see which half is worth your money today.
My shortlist? The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is the safest buy on the page thanks to that 30-day low badge. The top four accessories are easy yeses. And if you want AirPods, sit tight. They’ve been far cheaper, and October is your best shot at seeing that again.
I’ll update this post with live prices when the sale starts on October 6, so check back then.
