Big screens, tiny prices, and three deals already matching June’s Prime Day
Prices checked September 28, 2026
No need to wait until October 6. Amazon has already slashed prices on TVs across every size and budget, with sets starting at $97.99, and I’ve been through every single one to work out which are worth your money.
A few immediately caught my eye. The Insignia 50-inch F50 4K Fire TV is down to $179.99 (was $299.99), which is a genuinely silly price for a 50-inch 4K set. The Amazon Ember 50-inch 4-Series has dropped to $239.99 (was $399.99), a full 40% off. And if you just need something cheap for the bedroom, the Samsung 32-inch HD set is $97.99 (was $147.99).
But not every red badge is worth your attention, and that’s where it pays to look closer. Three of these TVs carry a genuine “Early Prime Big Deal” tag from Amazon, and two more are sitting at verified 90-day lows. Meanwhile, two are wrapped in ticking countdown timers that tell you nothing about whether the price is any good, and one TV that hit 40% off during June’s Prime Day is only 17% off today.
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days runs October 6 to 7, so some of these will get better. Others won’t, and a few will simply sell out. Here’s how I’d separate the wheat from the chaff.

Best early Prime Day TV deals under $200
Samsung 32″ HD Smart TV: was $147.99 now $97.99 @ Amazon
The cheapest TV on this page, and more than 10,000 people bought one last month. It’s a 2025 model with HDR, Object Tracking Sound Lite and Samsung’s Tizen software, so you get a proper smart TV experience rather than a stripped-back panel. Perfect for a bedroom, kitchen or dorm. At 34% off, it’s a lot of Samsung for under a hundred bucks.

Insignia 40″ F40 Fire TV: was $119.99 now $99 @ Amazon
Credit to Amazon for showing a typical price here rather than an inflated list price, which makes this 17% saving honest. The F40 gives you Full HD, Fire TV built in and an Alexa voice remote. My only hesitation: Forbes Vetted logged this exact model at 40% off during June’s Prime Day. If you can hold out until October 6, I think you’ll do considerably better.

Insignia 40″ FE Fire TV: was $149.99 now $99.99 @ Amazon
A dollar more than the F40 above, but a much better deal. This one carries a verified 90-day low price badge from Amazon, meaning it hasn’t been cheaper in three months, and the 33% discount is double what its sibling is offering. You also get a slightly better rating at 4.4 stars. Same Full HD picture, same Fire TV interface, same Alexa remote.

Roku 32″ Select Series: was $179.99 now $129.99 @ Amazon
The best-rated budget set here at 4.5 stars, with 9,000+ sold last month. Roku’s interface remains the easiest to live with if you’re not fussed about Alexa, and the Bluetooth headphone mode is a genuinely useful touch for late-night viewing without waking the house. It’s a 2026 model, so you’re getting current hardware for $129.99.

Amazon Ember 40″ 2-Series: was $249.99 now $179.99 @ Amazon
This one’s already at Prime Day pricing. Forbes Vetted recorded the Amazon Ember 2-Series 40-inch at exactly $70 off, 28%, during June’s Prime Day event, which is precisely where it sits today. It also carries a genuine Early Prime Big Deal badge. You get HD, Dolby Audio, the Ambient Experience and the new Alexa+ voice remote. Buy with confidence.

Insignia 50″ F50 4K Fire TV: was $299.99 now $179.99 @ Amazon
The best value on this entire page. A 50-inch 4K set for $179.99 would have been unthinkable a few years back, and this is an Overall Pick with nearly 14,000 reviews and 9,000+ bought last month. The 40% discount is real. Worth knowing: Forbes saw the 55-inch F50 hit 49% off in June, so there may be a touch more room. I wouldn’t gamble on it at this price.

Hisense 40″ QD4 Fire TV: was $249.99 now $197.21 @ Amazon
Quantum dot color at 40 inches is unusual, and it does make a visible difference to how punchy colors look compared with a standard LED panel. You also get DTS Virtual:X, built-in Alexa and a slim bezel design. Here’s the problem, though: it costs $17 more than the 50-inch 4K Insignia above. Unless you specifically need a smaller screen, that one’s the smarter buy.

Best early Prime Day TV deals under $500
Amazon Ember 50″ 4-Series 4K: was $399.99 now $239.99 @ Amazon
My pick of the Fire TV bunch. Forty percent off, backed by a proper Early Prime Big Deal badge, and you’re getting 4K Ultra HD, HDR10+, a fast processor, Dolby Audio and the Ambient Experience that turns the screen into artwork when you’re not watching. At $239.99 for a 50-inch 4K smart TV with current-generation Alexa+ built in, this is the deal I’d point most people toward.

Roku 50″ Select 4K QLED: was $299.99 now $249.99 @ Amazon
A QLED panel at 50 inches for $249.99 is decent going, and QLED gives you richer, more saturated color than a standard LED set. Roku’s interface is the simplest around, and 5,000+ people bought one last month. That said, the 17% discount is modest, and the Amazon Ember above gives you the same screen size for $10 less. This one’s for Roku loyalists.

Samsung 55″ M70H Mini LED: was $347.99 now $299.99 @ Amazon
Mini LED at 55 inches for under $300 is the sort of thing that made me double-check the listing. It’s a 2026 model with Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, Pure Spectrum Color and Motion Xcelerator with DLG for 120Hz, which matters for sports and gaming. Crucially, it carries a verified 90-day low price badge, and 7,000+ sold last month. Mini LED handles bright rooms far better than standard LED.

TCL 55″ T7 4K QLED: was $449.99 now $399.99 @ Amazon
On paper this is a gamer’s TV: 4K QLED with 144Hz for smooth motion in sports and fast-paced games. TCL’s panels punch well above their price in this range. But 11% off is the thinnest discount in this section, with only a routine “Limited time deal” tag behind it. Given the Samsung Mini LED above costs $100 less, I’d wait and see what October 6 does to this one.

Hisense 65″ E6SR Hi-QLED: was $549.99 now $399.99 @ Amazon
Sixty-five inches for under $400 is the headline here, and the spec sheet is generous: Hi-QLED, Dolby Vision, Game Mode Plus, VRR, ALLM, Apple AirPlay and Roku’s software. The catch is confidence. This 2026 model has just 29 reviews, so there’s barely any long-term feedback. It’s also wearing a countdown timer, which pressures you to decide fast on a TV that almost nobody has reviewed yet. Tempting, but I’d want more data.

Amazon Ember 55″ QLED: was $589.99 now $489.99 @ Amazon
The step-up Ember, with a QLED panel, 4K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Audio and a quad-core processor. It carries a genuine Early Prime Big Deal badge, which counts for something. Two things give me pause, though: the 17% discount is the weakest of the three Ember deals here, and at 4.0 stars from 286 reviews it’s the lowest-rated Amazon set on this page. The 50-inch 4-Series is better value.

TCL 85″ QM6K Mini LED: was $1,097.99 now $897.99 @ Amazon
Eighty-five inches of Mini LED QLED for under $900 is the most screen-per-dollar on this page by a distance. You get 4K HDR, a 120Hz to 144Hz high-brightness panel, Dolby Atmos with Onkyo audio and Google TV. The listing also shows an honest typical price rather than an invented list price, which makes the 18% saving believable. If you’re after a TV that takes over a wall, this is the one.

Toshiba 65″ G700 ArtVision: was $1,299.99 now $1,099.99 @ Amazon
An interesting set, this one. Alongside the QLED panel and a native 165Hz refresh rate, you get an anti-glare screen, the REGZA Engine ZRi, DTS Virtual:X and an art gallery mode with a physical art frame included, so it doubles as wall art when switched off. Think of it as a Frame TV rival. But it has just two reviews, it’s wearing a countdown timer, and 15% off is modest at this price. Too many unknowns for me.

Samsung 55″ S90H OLED: was $1,597.99 now $1,497.99 @ Amazon
The only OLED on this page, and OLED remains the picture-quality champion thanks to true black levels and per-pixel lighting. This 2026 model adds Samsung Vision AI, a glare-free panel, OLED HDR+ and the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor. It’s a lovely TV. The deal, though, is not: 6% off is the smallest discount in this entire roundup. OLEDs regularly take heavy cuts during Prime Day, so hold fire until October 6.

Are early Prime Day TV deals worth buying?
Some of them, yes. Five of these 16 are backed by something more substantial than a red badge.
Three carry a genuine “Early Prime Big Deal” tag from Amazon: the Ember 40-inch, the Ember 50-inch 4-Series and the Ember 55-inch QLED. Two more sit at verified 90-day lows: the Insignia 40-inch FE and the Samsung 55-inch M70H Mini LED. Those are the ones I’d act on, and the Ember 40-inch in particular, since Forbes Vetted recorded that identical $70 discount during June’s Prime Day. You’re not waiting for a better price on that one, because this is the price.
The rest are worth a second look. The Insignia F40 hit 40% off during June’s sale and is only 17% off now, which is a big gap to swallow. The Samsung OLED at 6% off and the TCL T7 at 11% both have obvious room to move.
And ignore the countdown timers on the Hisense 65-inch and the Toshiba 65-inch. A ticking clock creates urgency, not value, and both of those sets have fewer than 30 reviews between them.
When is October Prime Day 2026?
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days runs from October 6 at 12 a.m. PT through October 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT. That’s 48 hours of deals, kicking off at 3 a.m. ET.
Most discounts require a Prime membership, which costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. If you’re not a member, new sign-ups usually get a free trial, which is enough to cover the event.
Amazon drops fresh deals throughout the two days rather than all at once, so it’s worth checking back more than once.
How I picked these deals
I went through all 16 listings and checked the badge on each one, separating Amazon’s official early Prime tags and verified low-price badges from the routine “Limited time deal” promotions that run year-round.
I then compared today’s prices against what these models sold for during June’s Prime Day, using pricing recorded by Forbes Vetted, TechRadar and Popular Science, so I could tell which discounts are already at sale levels and which have further to fall.
I also flagged any TV with fewer than 50 reviews, noted which listings show an honest typical price instead of an inflated list price, and called out the countdown timers for what they are.
