Amazon device deals from $17 — 23 early Prime Day deals

Seven genuine early Prime deals, and three prices that are higher than they were in June

If there’s one category where Prime Day genuinely delivers, it’s Amazon’s own hardware. Echo speakers, Fire TV Sticks, Fire tablets and Blink cameras get cut harder during this event than at any other point in the year, and the early deals are already live from $17.99.

Plenty here is worth your money. The Fire HD 10 tablet is down to $72.99 (was $154.99), a 53% cut with a genuine early Prime badge on it. The Fire TV Cube has dropped to $89.99 (was $199.99), the biggest discount in the Fire TV range. And the Fire TV Stick 4K Select is $17.99 (was $49.99), which is exactly what TechRadar recorded as its lowest-ever price during June’s Prime Day.

But here’s where it pays to look twice. The Echo Dot is wearing a bold “50% off” badge at $39.99, and it’s the biggest-looking discount in the Echo lineup. During June’s Prime Day, though, TechRadar and 9to5Toys both had it at $34.99. You’d pay $5 more today. The reason that 50% is possible at all is that the list price has climbed from $49.99 to $79.99 in the three months since.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Plus tells the same story, only louder. It’s badged 46% off at $37.99. In June it was $24.99. That’s $13 more for a bigger-sounding discount.

Prime Big Deal Days runs October 6 to 7. Seven of the 23 deals below carry a genuine early Prime badge, which is the most I’ve seen in any category this year. Here’s how I’d sort the real from the theatrical.

Best early Prime Day Fire TV deals

Fire TV Stick 4K Select: was $49.99 now $17.99 @ Amazon

This is the honest one on the page. TechRadar recorded the 4K Select at exactly $17.99 during June’s Prime Day and called it the lowest price the stick had ever hit. Three months on, you’re paying the same. The percentage looks bigger now only because the list price climbed, but the price in your basket hasn’t moved. AI-powered Fire TV Search, 4K streaming and Alexa+ for under twenty bucks.

Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote Pro: was $34.99 now $19.99 @ Amazon

The remote finder alone justifies this if your household loses things down the back of the sofa. Press a button in the Alexa app and the remote chimes. You also get backlit buttons for late-night channel hopping, plus TV power and volume controls. With 23,931 reviews and 10,000+ sold last month, it’s a well-proven upgrade over the basic remote at 43% off.

Fire TV Stick 4K Plus: was $69.99 now $37.99 @ Amazon

With 114,710 reviews, this is the most-reviewed device on the page, and it’s a genuinely excellent streamer with Wi-Fi 6 and AI-powered search. But check the history before you click. TechRadar and 9to5Toys both logged the 4K Plus at $24.99 during June’s Prime Day, when its list price was $49.99. Today it’s $69.99 list and $37.99 to buy, which means a bigger badge and $13 more out of your pocket. I’d hold out for October 6 on this one.

Fire TV Soundbar: was $119.99 now $79.99 @ Amazon

One of seven genuine “Early Prime Big Deal” badges here. It’s a simple 2.0 bar with DTS Virtual:X, Dolby Audio and Bluetooth, designed to plug into a Fire TV and just work. Nobody’s mistaking it for a proper surround system, but if you’re still using your TV’s built-in speakers, the jump in dialogue clarity alone is worth $80. A third off, badge-backed.

Fire TV Cube: was $199.99 now $89.99 @ Amazon

Fifty-five percent off, the deepest cut in the Fire TV range. The Cube is the one to get if you want hands-free Alexa without reaching for a remote, and it’s noticeably faster than any of the sticks thanks to its beefier processor. Wi-Fi 6E, 4K Ultra HD and AI-powered search round it out. With 15,979 reviews and 6,000+ bought last month, this is the streaming deal I’d point most people toward.

Best early Prime Day Echo deals

Echo Show 5 Adjustable Stand: was $26.99 now $19.99 @ Amazon

Only worth adding if you’re buying a Show 5 alongside it. The stand tilts the display up toward your face, which makes a real difference on a nightstand or a kitchen counter, and it includes a USB-C charging port. With 18,973 reviews behind it, plenty of people have decided it’s worth the outlay. A sensible $7 saving.

Echo Dot: was $79.99 now $39.99 @ Amazon

The most-reviewed product on this entire page, with 200,205 ratings and a 4.7-star average. It’s the default first Alexa device for good reason: compact, decent sound for the size, and it does everything most people ask of a smart speaker. That “50% off” needs context, though. TechRadar and 9to5Toys both had the Echo Dot at $34.99 during June’s Prime Day, against a $49.99 list. Today the list is $79.99 and the price is $39.99, so the discount looks twice as generous while costing you $5 more. Available in Deep Sea Blue, Glacier White and Charcoal at the same price. Wait for October 6.

Echo Spot: was $109.99 now $54.99 @ Amazon

Fifty percent off, and a smarter nightstand buy than a Show 5 if you mainly want the time, the weather and an alarm. The display is deliberately simple, so it isn’t throwing video at you at 6am, and the sound is better than you’d expect from something this small. With 45,967 reviews and 10,000+ sold last month, it’s one of the safer Echo picks here.

Echo Show 5: was $99.99 now $59.99 @ Amazon

The best-selling smart display Amazon makes, with 72,453 reviews to prove it, and the Glacier White version currently holds a #1 best seller tag. The newest model brings twice the bass and clearer sound, which addresses the main complaint about earlier versions. At 40% off, it’s a solid price for a bedside or kitchen screen. Also sold in Charcoal and Cloud Blue at the same cost.

Echo Show 5 Kids: was $109.99 now $59.99 @ Amazon

Here’s a quirk worth knowing. This costs exactly the same as the standard Show 5 above, but adds parental controls and a full year of Amazon Kids+ included. If there’s any chance a child will use it, take this version: you’re getting the subscription thrown in for nothing. The 4.1-star rating from 3,612 reviews is the only soft spot.

Echo Dot Max: was $119.99 now $79.99 @ Amazon

The step up from the standard Dot, with room-filling sound and nearly three times the bass, aimed at living rooms rather than bedrooms. 9to5Toys reported the Dot Max hitting an all-time low at up to 35% off during June’s early Prime Day window. Today’s 33% is close to that, so this one is priced roughly where it should be. 7,000+ bought last month.

Echo Show 8: was $199.99 now $124.99 @ Amazon

An 8.7-inch HD display with spatial audio, which is the sweet spot for a kitchen counter: big enough to follow a recipe video, small enough not to dominate. One thing to note before you trust the rating. This listing shows 4.3 stars from 8,009 reviews, and so does the Echo Show 11 below, despite being a different device at a different price. Amazon pools reviews across variations, so read a few and check which model people are describing.

Echo Show 11: was $249.99 now $149.99 @ Amazon

Forty percent off, the biggest discount in the Echo display range, and 10,000+ people bought one last month. The full-HD 11-inch screen gives you noticeably more viewing area than the Show 8, and the spatial audio makes it a credible music speaker in its own right. Same pooled review count caveat applies. If you want a smart display as a genuine second screen rather than a glorified clock, this is the pick.

Echo Show 15: was $349.99 now $249.99 @ Amazon

The wall-mounted option, with a 15.6-inch full-HD panel and built-in Fire TV, pitched as a family organization hub for calendars, lists and recipes. It’s a lovely thing if you’ve got the wall space and the inclination to mount it. But at 29% off it’s the thinnest discount of any Echo here, and it’s the priciest device in the range. I’d wait and see what October 6 brings.

Best early Prime Day Fire tablet deals

Fire HD 10: was $154.99 now $72.99 @ Amazon

The best tablet deal on this page and one of the best deals full stop. A genuine early Prime badge, 53% off, and you get a 10.1-inch full-HD screen, an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. With 44,470 reviews and 10,000+ sold last month, it’s a proven device. For a sofa tablet you use for streaming, reading and browsing, $72.99 is hard to argue with. Buy it.

Fire HD 8: was $129.99 now $79.99 @ Amazon

Also carrying a real early Prime badge, with 4GB of memory and 64GB of storage, so you get double the space of the HD 10 above in a more portable 8-inch body. Here’s the awkward bit, though: it costs $7 more than the bigger, higher-resolution HD 10. Unless you specifically want something pocketable, or you need the extra storage, the HD 10 is the better buy.

Fire HD 8 Kids Pro: was $169.99 now $89.99 @ Amazon

Aimed at ages 6 to 12, with an 8-inch HD screen, 64GB, a 13-hour battery, parental controls, a slim protective case and ad-free content included. The listing also shows an honest typical price rather than an inflated list price, which makes that 47% genuine. With a real early Prime badge, a 4.6-star rating and 10,000+ sold last month, it’s the strongest kids’ device here.

Best early Prime Day Fire TV smart TV deals

Amazon Ember 32″ 2-Series: was $159.99 now $134.99 @ Amazon

Proof that a badge isn’t automatically a bargain. This carries a genuine “Early Prime Big Deal” tag, yet it’s only 16% off, the second-thinnest discount on the entire page. You get an HD smart TV with Fire TV built in, Dolby Audio, the Ambient Experience and an Alexa+ remote, which is fine for a bedroom or a spare room. But with a badge attached and 2,000+ sold last month, I’d still expect Amazon to push this further on October 6.

Amazon Ember 55″ 4-Series 4K: was $459.99 now $279.99 @ Amazon

Now this is more like it. Same early Prime badge, but 39% off rather than 16%, and you’re getting a 55-inch 4K set with HDR10+, a fast processor, Dolby Audio and the Ambient Experience that turns the screen into artwork when idle. For $280, a 55-inch 4K smart TV with current-generation Alexa+ built in is a properly good deal. The better of the two Embers by a distance.

Best early Prime Day smart home and Wi-Fi deals

Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer Switch: was $19.99 now $16.99 @ Amazon

The cheapest thing here, and another example of a real early Prime badge attached to a small discount. At 15% off it’s the thinnest cut on the page. To its credit, the listing shows an honest typical price, and there’s no wiring required, which is unusual for a dimmer. Two caveats: it works with Alexa only, it needs a compatible Echo device, and it has just 340 reviews.

Amazon Smart Thermostat: was $79.99 now $56.99 @ Amazon

Twenty-nine percent off a thermostat that pays for itself in energy savings over a year or two, and it works with both Alexa and Ring. With 25,528 reviews, it’s well established. Two things to check first, though. It requires a C-wire, so look inside your existing thermostat before ordering, and that 4.0-star rating is the lowest of any Amazon-made device on this page.

Seventy-two percent off is the biggest discount on this page by a mile, and you get five 1080p cameras with two-year battery life, a 2K battery doorbell and the Sync Module Core included. On paper, that’s a whole-home security setup for $105. Approach with your eyes open, though: the bundle has just 21 reviews and a 3.5-star rating, the lowest here, and that 72% is calculated against a combined bundle list price rather than a single product’s. Worth a hard look at the reviews first.

eero 7 mesh Wi-Fi 3-pack: was $399.99 now $339.99 @ Amazon

Wi-Fi 7 across three units, covering up to 6,000 square feet and supporting internet plans up to 2.5 Gbps. If your house has dead zones and you’re still running a single router, mesh is the fix, and eero’s setup process remains the least painful in the category. The problem is the price. At 15% off it’s tied for the thinnest discount here, on the most expensive item on the page. Networking gear routinely goes deeper during Prime Day, so wait.

Are early Prime Day Amazon device deals worth buying?

Some genuinely are, and this category has more real deals than any I’ve looked at this year.

Seven devices carry an official “Early Prime Big Deal” badge: the Fire HD 10, Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Kids Pro, both Ember TVs, the Fire TV Soundbar and the Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer. The Fire HD 10 at 53% off is the standout of that group and the deal I’d buy without hesitation.

But a badge is not the same as a bargain, and this list proves it. The Amazon Basics Dimmer carries a real early Prime tag with just 15% off. The Ember 32-inch TV carries one with 16%. Both are the weakest discounts on the page. The badge tells you Amazon has tied that price to the October event, not that the price is good.

Then there’s the percentage problem, which is the thing I’d most want you to take away. Three of Amazon’s best sellers have had their list prices raised since June, which makes today’s discounts look larger while the actual price is higher:

  • Echo Dot: $34.99 in June, $39.99 today. List went from $49.99 to $79.99.
  • Fire TV Stick 4K Plus: $24.99 in June, $37.99 today. List went from $49.99 to $69.99.
  • Fire TV Stick 4K Select: $17.99 in June, $17.99 today. List went from $39.99 to $49.99.

Only the last one is honest. Same price, bigger badge. The other two want more money from you than they did three months ago while shouting a louder number.

Two more things to watch. The Blink bundle’s headline 72% is measured against a combined bundle list price, and it rests on 21 reviews with a 3.5-star average. And the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 display the identical 8,009 reviews despite being different devices, because Amazon pools ratings across variations.

Which Amazon device should you buy?

If you just want to make a TV smart: the Fire TV Stick 4K Select at $17.99. It’s at its all-time low, and for most people the differences between it and the pricier sticks won’t be noticeable.

If you want speed and hands-free control: the Fire TV Cube. It’s the fastest Fire TV device by a clear margin, and 55% off makes it the best-value streamer here.

For your first Alexa device: the Echo Spot if you want it by the bed, or the Echo Dot if you want it anywhere else. Both are simple and cheap enough to experiment with.

If you want a screen: the Echo Show 5 for a nightstand, the Show 8 or Show 11 for a kitchen counter, and the Show 15 only if you’re mounting it on a wall and genuinely want a family hub.

For kids: the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro, or the Echo Show 5 Kids, which costs the same as the standard Show 5 with a year of Amazon Kids+ included.

Best all-round value on this page: the Fire HD 10 tablet at 53% off.

When is October Prime Day 2026?

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days runs from October 6 at 12 a.m. PT through October 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT. That’s 48 hours, kicking off at 3 a.m. ET.

Most deals require a Prime membership, which costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. New members can usually start with a free trial that covers the whole event.

One thing worth knowing about this category specifically: Amazon’s own devices are traditionally the deepest-discounted products of the entire sale, and the company often saves its most aggressive pricing for the event itself rather than the early window. TechRadar reported Amazon device savings reaching 65% during June’s Prime Day. So if something here is only 15% or 16% off, patience is likely to pay.

Amazon also releases fresh deals throughout the two days rather than dropping everything at once, so check back more than once.

How I picked these deals

I checked the badge on all 23 listings, separating Amazon’s official early Prime tags from the routine “Limited time deal” and “Deal selling fast” labels that run year-round.

I then compared today’s prices against what these devices sold for during June’s Prime Day, using pricing recorded by TechRadar and 9to5Toys, which is how the list price increases on the Echo Dot and the Fire TV Sticks came to light.

I also flagged products with unusually low review counts, noted where Amazon is pooling reviews across different devices, checked which listings show an honest typical price rather than a list price, and consolidated color variants so you’re not scrolling past the same Echo Dot three times.
